According to the consulting report of Chinese Academy of engineering, the domestic clean energy without solar energy in China can be collected as energy resources in the near and medium term, which is equivalent to 2.15 billion tons of standard coal, accounting for 40% of the total energy consumption in 2013. If solar energy is added, it can account for half of the rivers and mountains. The ranking of resources and proportion of all kinds of clean energy in China are: biomass (1171 million tons of standard coal, accounting for 54.5%), hydropower (584 million tons of standard coal, accounting for 27.2%), wind power (335 million tons of standard coal, accounting for 15.5%) and nuclear power (58 million tons of standard coal, accounting for 2.7%). Meanwhile, biomass resource is 2 times of hydropower and 3.5 times of wind power. In 2013, the actual capacity of biomass energy, solar energy and wind energy in China was converted into 51915000 tons of standard coal, 47221000 tons of standard coal and 41175000 tons of standard coal, respectively, with biomass energy in the first place.
The development of biomass energy in China has begun to take shape. At present, the processable residues such as straw and agricultural products that can be used as energy in China are equivalent to about 430 million tons of standard coal per year. In 2013, the installed capacity of domestic biomass power generation was 8.5 million kilowatts, with an annual power generation capacity of 37 billion kwh; the output value of biofuel ethanol was 2 million tons / year, and the output value of biodiesel was 500000 tons / year; the utilization amount of biomass shaped fuel was about 8 million tons / year; the utilization amount of biomass gas including biogas was about 16 billion cubic meters / year, and the total utilization amount of biomass energy was about 35 million tons / year of standard coal.
According to the data, the total energy consumption in 2013 was 3.76 billion tons of standard coal, in which biomass energy utilization accounted for 0.53%. In 2013, biomass power generation accounted for 0.80% of the national power generation. The total biomass resources that can be used for energy utilization in China each year is 400 million tons, if fully utilized, about 10.6% of the energy consumption in 2013.
From the perspective of energy structure, although biomass energy accounts for a limited proportion of China’s total energy consumption, it does not prevent China’s biomass energy industry from becoming the “next great man”. China’s national conditions determine that the biomass industry not only needs development, but also will give priority to development.
